The Singapore Cable Car is an aerial link between the main island of Singapore to the Sentosa island across the Keppel Harbour. The cable car ride from Mount Faber to Sentosa island is 1.65 Kilometres long and the ride takes around 30 minutes. Opened to public way back in 1974, the cable car link was the first aerial rope-way system to span a harbour.
For a detailed itinerary of my Singapore trip read my following blog
We visited “The Merlion park” (for more details read my blog) , the Thian Hock Keng Temple ( for more details read my blog) and National Orchid Garden ( for more details read my blog) during the morning of Day -2 of our Singapore trip. Post lunch planned to visit the famous Sentosa island and found the “Mount Faber – Sentosa Cable car ride” as the most convenient and exciting option.
Our tour operator picked us from the hotel at around 2:00 PM and we reached Mount Faber by around 2:30 PM. Mount Faber station is a great vantage point which provides a panoramic view of the financial district, harbour and Sentosa island.
Currently there are 2 lines on which these cable cars are operated:
- Mount Faber line: This was the line which was inaugurated in the year 1974. The line has 3 stations – Mount Faber station; from where we started our ride, Harbour front station and the Sentosa station which was our destination.
- Sentosa Line: This is the new line which was started in the year 2015 which enables the visitors to travel easily within the island. The line brings visitors to three stations – Siloso Point, Imbiah Lookout and Merlion
Unfortunately, these 2 lines are not connected and the only way to change lines currently is to get down at Sentosa station and walk down to Imbiah Lookout station
Singapore Cable Car Operating Hours:
From 8.45am to 10pm
(Last boarding: 9.30pm)
Ticket prices for a Round trip: $29 for adult & $18 for children

The cable car ride is an unique experience and the view that the ride offers of the harbour and Sentosa island are unparalleled. Though the ride is a bit expensive, I would definitely recommend you to book a ride and soar high through the skies between Mount Faber and the Sentosa island.

Hi.
We’re about to try the cable car and we will be starting at the Harbourfront Station.
If were going first to Mount Faber Station from Harbourfront, can we use the same ticket from Mount Faber to Sentosa Station?
Our way will be like this: Harbourfront to Mount Faber to Sentosa.

And do you know a way to go to Universal Studios from Sentosa Cable Car Station?
