Recently, my family and I stayed at Fairfield by Marriott in Indore while my wife and I were in town for a guest talk at IIM Indore. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with a few key points to consider for travelers.

📍 The Hotel and Location

Fairfield by Marriott is centrally located, making it easy to access many areas of the city. The area around the hotel is quite busy due to ongoing metro construction, especially during peak hours. Additionally, there’s a lively bar right next door, so expect some hustle and bustle in the evenings. Room rates typically start around ₹4,000 – ₹6,000 per night, which is fair given the central location and basic amenities. Overall, I’d rate the hotel 3 out of 5 for its convenience and occasional chaos.

🛏️ Room and Amenities

We received an upgrade, and our room was spacious—a nice touch! However, the decor and furnishings were basic, so don’t expect much luxury. The room covered all essentials for a short stay, but the focus is clearly on function over frills. If you’re looking for an efficient place to stay without extra embellishments, this should work well.

🍽️ Dining and Breakfast

The breakfast spread was a highlight. With a good selection of Indian and continental options, it offered tasty and satisfying choices each morning. Although not overly elaborate, the variety was enough to cater to different tastes.

🌆 Nearby Attractions

The hotel’s central location makes it easy to visit some key attractions in Indore:

  • Rajwada Palace (20 mins): A seven-story historic palace offering a peek into Indore’s royal heritage.
  • Sarafa Bazaar (20 mins): A vibrant night market famous for its street food and lively atmosphere.
  • Lal Bagh Palace (15 mins): Known for its architecture and gardens, this palace offers a peaceful escape.
  • Chappan Dukan (10 mins): A popular spot with 56 shops selling a variety of snacks and treats.

💭 Final Thoughts

Overall, Fairfield by Marriott Indore served us well for a brief, functional stay. With a 3 out of 5 rating, it’s a good option for short trips or business visits, especially if your focus is on location over luxury.

Would we stay here again? Possibly, if the trip required a functional base. For families or those seeking a more relaxed experience, it might be worth exploring the other Marriott properties or Radisson across the road.
